As part of our commitment, the LAA has modified its security systems, introduced more trained security personnel up to best international aviation standards and establish a strong partnership with national security in ensuring your safety.
Whether arriving, departing, or in transit, you can travel with peace of mind knowing that your security is our top priority. Here are some tips to help you travel with confidence.
Screening Process begin
Before you arrive at the Airport
- Check baggage rules: Know your airline’s carry-on and checked baggage limits.
- Remove prohibited items: Avoid bringing items like sharp objects, flammable liquids, or large containers of liquid (over 100ml in carry-ons).
- Documents ready: Keep your passport, boarding pass, and visa (if required) easily accessible.
Screening
Show your passport, visa, Boarding Pass and flight details for initial screening.
Be ready to answer basic questions about your travel purpose and duration.
Declare items like cash over $10,000 USD, restricted foods, or electronics if required.
At the Security Screening Point
Remove laptops, tablets, and liquids from your bag before scanning your Carry – on through the X-ray scanner.
Take off belts, shoes, and metal accessories and walk through the metal detector machine for Body Screening.
Belonging Screening: Place all removed personal belonging in the provided trays for X-ray scanning.
Entry at Airport Facility
Remove laptops, tablets, and liquids from your bag before scanning your Carry – on through the X-ray scanner.
Take off belts, shoes, and metal accessories and walk through the metal detector machine for Body Screening.
Belonging Screening: Place all removed personal belonging in the provided trays for X-ray scanning.
Label your baggage (Carry-on) to reduce risk of lost or confusion. Keep power banks 100Wh since larger batteries may not be allowed. Expect uniformed airport police or Liberia National Police nearby.
