The Credentialing Office is responsible for issuing Airport identification passes that are used to assign and maintain access to secure areas of the airport. The Airport environment presents a unique set of challenges, which are managed in accordance with federal regulations that aim to ensure a safe and secure environment for passengers and employees.

The Airport Seciruty Department is located at the Old Administrative building above Ecobank. As you enter the Airport’s fence by the way of the of the passenger’s gate, turn right to locate Ecobank. At your immediate right is Liberia Bank For Development and Investment (LBDI) turn left to see Ecobank. At the top of Ecobank is the administrative building. Within in the Administrative building you can find the Airport Security Department for the intended purpose.

Companies or Individuals Aquiring Access Pass for the first time, are required to attend the Authorized training course per the Silver Aviation requirement.
Step 1 – New Companies or individauls applying for access pass should officially write to the MD office for approval. Once approved the MD Office shall send the approved to security for onward processing.
Step 2 –The Security will invite the company or invidual for questioning, later provide them with required infromation to obtain access pass.
- The company must provide two passport size photos per Access Pass requested.
- The company should obtaine copy of police clearance from the ationak police headquarters per Access Pass requested.
- Propose Access Pass holder shall score a passing grade of 80% and above in the Access Pass training test.
- Finally obtain Access Pass Issued by the Airport the Security Department.
Step 3- Send the required documents attached in an email request to Airport Service Department ([email protected]) to initiate registration for the Authorized Access Pass training course.
Step 4 – Once the documents are approved, the Authorized Company will be contacted at the email provided on the company information form to schedule the first-time Authorized Access Pass training.

The Airport Security Department issues all vehicle access permits, placard, or tags to companies that prove, through documentation, to have an official need to access the Air Operations Area (AOA) by vehicle. The appropriate documentation, vehicle permit request form, Certificate of Insurance (COI), sponsorship or lease agreement and valid vehicle registrations (if needed) must be emailed to the Security Department Service ([email protected]) for review and approval.
Vehicle placard requirements will be verified at the vehicle access gates.
Applicants applying for Airport Access badge must complete and successfully pass the required Access Badge Awareness training course.

- Access Badge ID Number – This number is created when printing the Access Pass/Badge. The applicant and Authorized Company will receive the airport Access Badge/ Pass in person.
Training is required every year upon renewing your Access Pass/Badge.
The Airport Security Deparrtment requires Authorized Access Pass Holder training be renewed annually.
Inspection: Regulatory Compliance conducts protection on aircraft, vehicles, ramp, construction sites, tenants, terminal doors, and for the Roberts International Airport (RIA) incentive program. Fines (Breach of Rules Notices) are assessed for tenants who fail to comply with the rules.
Contract Guard Security Services: Regulatory Compliance also manages the section within the LAA that provides physical access control to the Airport’s restricted areas and conducts monthly performance reviews to ensure the highest level of security is maintained.
Vehicle markings will be verified at gate access areas.
Vehicle Marking Requirements Ensure that vehicles operating in the SIDA area are marked as follows:
- Body – Permanent company name/logo.
- Door – Lettering must be at least 2″ x ½”
- Window – Must be permanently affixed to the vehicle and may be substituted for door markings.
- Logo: Must be clearly recognizable and associated with the company.
- Amber Beacon Lights: – All vehicles operating on service roads adjacent to aircraft taxiways, surface movement areas, and parking areas must be equipped with amber beacon lights for illumination at night and during limited visibility.

Escort Request
A minimum of 24 hours advance notice is required for all escort approvals.
Escortees are required to have a institution-issued ID.
Escorters are required to have an ‘E’ designation on their access media to escort or have a red badge.
Vehicle Escorts
Up to (2) vehicles at a time. employee must be badged for SIDA access.
Note:
The individual providing the escort is required to maintain visual and verbal control of the individuals being escorted.
If an escorted person engages in activities other than those for which access was granted, the escorting individual must report the incident to Airport Security Department by calling (+231) 775-5550-19 or (+231) 775-5550-18 immediately.
Airport users are not permitted to carry firearms or other prohibited items when attempting to access security restricted areas.
Prohibited items include:
– Guns (firearms, stun, BB, spear, air, flare, replicas, pellet, starter)
– Ammunition
– Explosives (components, materials, fireworks, flares, grenades, replicas, etc.)
– Illegal substances and relative paraphernalia
– Axes, hatchets, swords, sabers or knives (excluding plastic)
– Razor-type blades such as box cutters, utility knives and safety razor blades when there is no discernible reason for the individual to be in possession of such (disposable razors and their cartridges are permitted)
– Bats (baseball, cricket), sticks (hockey, lacrosse, pool), golf clubs
– Martial arts weapons (night sticks, batons, throwing stars, nun chucks, brass knuckles, billy clubs, black jacks, etc.)
– Fuels (including cooking fuels and any flammable liquid)
– Scissors – metal and pointed tips greater than four inches from pivot point
– Self-defense sprays (pepper spray, mace, etc.)
– Alcohol
